CS/EE 146 Advanced Cyber Physical Networks: Power Systems

CS/EE 146 is a topics course in networking. For Winter 2012, we will study power systems.

Basic theory may include basic power system analysis: phasor representation, 3-phase transmission system, transmission line models, transformer models, per-unit analysis, network matrix, power flow analysis;
Research topics may include (depending on students' own interests) optimal power flow, VAR control, demand response, stability, economic models, unbalanced system

For roughly half of the course, we will study the basic power system analysis, mainly following the text:

For the other half, we will go through research papers and work on research topics.
